Unrestricted Dollars Meet Changing Community Needs
Many donors choose to support the work of the Foundation by contributing dollars to the Unrestricted Fund. This fund is the Foundation’s largest. Donors do not specify any particular cause or nonprofit organization that their contribution should support. So the Unrestricted Fund provides grants to a large variety of community projects that are deemed worthy by the Foundation’s Board of Directors.
Unrestricted dollars make up nearly 20% of all the Foundation funds and provide for nearly half of all the community grants given each year.
The Unrestricted Fund is invested carefully and conservatively every quarter. Only the investment earnings are given as grants. The rest continues to earn. It is this fund that will provide grant monies to worthy community projects forever. Contributions to the Unrestricted Fund affect Blackford County now and many, many years into the future!
Any donation you make may be made in memory or honor of a family member, friend, or business associate.
You may donate online to the Unrestricted Fund by writing “Unrestricted Fund” in the Purpose of Donation box or by sending a check by mail or contributing in person to
