The Blackford County Community Foundation provided funds to match a grant from the United States Golf Association (USGA) in 2007 to provide golf instruction for young people ages 8 to 14. In June of 2011, 65 youth participated. Though the USGA has concluded the grant program, the organization is allowing the Foundation to disperse the remaining funds for youth golf. Those monies along with additional local donations permit the continuation of the summer program here in Blackford County.
