This hunger initiative benefits our area residents by providing additional food for those in need in this community. To accomplish the goal, the Blackford County Community Foundation matched 50 cents of every dollar donated during the 2011 campaign. Your gifts and the Foundation match totaling $44,761 were added to the Foundation’s existing local Second Harvest Food Bank endowment fund benefiting the men, women, and children of Blackford County. That means that those who receive help, live in Blackford County. It also means that your financial gift is tax-exempt.
If you wish to donate additional dollars to this Replenish campaign, you may send your gift to

“Every week, new people are coming in for help --- single parents, people making minimum wage, individuals who have just lost their jobs, and others trying to make ends meet on a fixed income. The need for food in this community is so great.”
