In 1992, Blackford County Community Foundation partnered with Blackford County Schools to provide additional monetary support to the social services available within the local education system. These funds are used to assist school families who have suffered a catastrophic loss, such as a house fire, and are in immediate need of food and clothing. School counselors or social workers make the specific request to the Foundation as a need arises and funds are dispersed.
