Creating a Scholarship/Scholarship Fund
Donors interested in promoting educational opportunities for students may establish a scholarship with the option of choosing either an Advised Scholarship Fund or a Discretionary Scholarship Fund. This may be a preferred opportunity to honor a community organization or remember a family member with a memorial scholarship. The Foundation helps with the oversight role by awarding scholarships and by administering all scholarship/scholarship funds.
The donor(s) decides on the guidelines and criteria. Scholarships may support any level of education and may be based on the school the student is attending, his/her chosen field of study, financial need, academic achievement, community service, etc. Also to be considered is whether the scholarships will be used for items such as tuition and/or room and board. More . . .
Creating a scholarship/scholarship fund is one way to create a legacy that will help students know the importance of an education as the donor leads by example, a role model in our community.
