The Blackford County Community Foundation provided a 1:2 match to the Second Harvest Endowment Fund, matching 50 cents of every dollar donated. All
financial gifts, as well as the Foundation’s match, were deposited into the existing local Second Harvest Endowment Fund
that is maintained and managed by the Foundation. All donations stay in Blackford County to benefit the men, women and children in the
area and to continue to provide for future generations.
The steering committee represented various segments in the community, such as business, agriculture, churches and service organizations. “We truly want to
extend our appreciation to the steering committee for their leadership and dedication in this initiative,” said Karen McTague, Director of Development.
“Hunger seriously affects our community, and the Foundation is dedicated to being a collaborative partner in hunger issues involving the well-being of
local residents.”
